Folk songs short discription
Folk songs are the mirror of Nepalese society,they reflect what was there and what is prevailing in the society in a logical and entertaining ways.
From eastern part to the western part and from southern to northern the inhabitants have their own style of folk songs. Different type of lyrics and tons even make folk songs even more melodious, Usually the people in the village and mountain areas love folk music,people in the city area love too but they are attracted to western music too so the most focus priority of folk song goes to village residence.
Folk songs are used in different forms and style like commedy(mainly aims in entertaining people),informatic(which gives information of different things,places,accident,situation,culture,religions etc)and there are awareness generating folk song(which aware people from different diseased,girls trafficking, drugs addiction etc)
From ancient to the modern period the folk song has been an important medium of entertain,information,awareness in the nepalese society,they have their own traditional instruments for the music likeMADAL,SARANGI,DAMPHU,DHOL,KONGO,HARMONIUM,BASURI(flute),etc with the pace of time different modern instrument are also used for folk songs like keyboard.
Folk songs are in audio and video forms, now a days differnt modern studio have been established to record the songs and there are professional folk singer too who have been living by singing folk songs.People enjoy folk songs in different palces like classical restaurent they entertain their guest by folk songs and in different occasion and ceremony folk songs are played.
Government has also established a special board for the promotion and development of folk songs which further help to preserve and protect the folk songs which are the identity of nepalese people.
